There are two "parades" in Oxford - North Parade and South Parade. The weird thing is that South Parade is further north than North Parade!
It is sometimes claimed that the names originate from the English Cival War where South Parade was the further southern front of the Roundheads, and North Parade was the northern front of the Royalists. Whether or not this is true, it's still an interesting fact that they're the wrong way around - and not many Oxfordonians have even considered that fact.
My first cache. I hope you enjoy :)
